Muqarnas, a 3 dimensional honeycomb feature in Islamic architecture, & domes are traditional Islamic ceiling design found in institutional buildings. Not only do they enhance the aesthetics of the interior, these designs improves the acoustics especially in mosques.

With a limit on ceiling height for most homes in Singapore, modern adaptations of these design are simpler and functional, incorporating geometric patterns, rosetta, intricate gypsum mould cornices, coffered ceiling design, paint colours & shadow play using Islamic lightings.
